Chat bot commands

Every chat command, its default aliases, and how to customise them.

Manage commands under Configuration > Bot. For each command you can:

  • Turn it on or off.
  • Change its aliases: at least 1 and up to 10, each up to 32 characters. Aliases start with ! and use only letters, numbers and underscores; Ovatio adds the ! if you leave it out.
  • Edit its response, up to 500 characters. Use {{variables}} to fill in details such as the song or position; the editor lists the variables each command supports and shows a preview.

The bot only sees and answers commands once it's connected; see Chat integrations.

How the bot reads a message

  • The message has to start with an alias. Anything after the alias and a space is the command's input, such as the song name. Song requests are cut off at 200 characters.
  • Capitals don't matter: !SR, !sr and !Sr all work.
  • The alias has to be a whole word, so !songrequesting doesn't trigger !songRequest.
  • Commands you've turned off are ignored, as if the message were normal chat.

Type a chat message below to see which command it triggers and what the bot replies. This uses the default aliases and responses, with example song details.
