Chat integrations
Connect the Twitch and YouTube chat bots, fix permissions, and set up stream markers.
Connecting the bot
Under Configuration > Bot, turn on Connect Twitch bot or Connect YouTube bot, or use the switches below. The bot uses the Twitch or Google account linked to your Ovatio login. Only the channel owner can connect or disconnect the bots; mods see their status.
Live
- No linked account: link it first under Account menu > Manage account.
- Missing permissions: Ovatio asks you to reconnect. Open your account menu, choose Manage account, and reconnect Twitch (or Google for YouTube) to grant the new permissions.
- Access removed: if Ovatio's access was removed in Twitch, Google or your Ovatio account, the card shows why. Reconnect the account, then turn the bot on again.
How each platform works
- Twitch: Twitch sends chat messages to Ovatio as they happen. If commands stop working while the bot looks connected, turning the bot off and on again usually fixes it.
- YouTube: Ovatio checks your live chat every few seconds, but only while you have an active live broadcast. Outside a stream the bot waits; that's normal.
If the bot answers commands but its replies don't show up in chat, it's usually missing permission to post. Reconnect your account.
Stream markers
Under Configuration > Markers you can add a Twitch or YouTube stream marker whenever a new song starts. The platform has to be connected and you have to be live. Only the channel owner can change this.
