Song library
Add, import, export and organise the songs viewers can request.
Your library (Library > Songs) is the list of songs you can play. Viewers can only request songs that are in it.
Adding songs
- Search Spotify from the Songs page and add results.
- Add a song manually by typing its details. Name and artist are required; album and release date are optional. Use this when Spotify doesn't have the song. Duplicates are rejected.
- Import a file: .csv, .xlsx, .xls, .json and .gz files are accepted.
- StreamerSonglist exports (CSV or Excel) import directly.
- Ovatio backups (from Ovatio's own export) restore a library as it was.
Imports run in the background. Ovatio prepares the file, you review a draft, and then you commit it. Progress and errors show in the import panel, and you can resume an import later. While a draft is waiting for review, the import button is hidden until you finish or discard it.
Rows that can't be read are listed as errors in the import result; the rest still import.
You can start an import right here too:
Exporting
The export button offers an Ovatio backup, which you can import again later, and a StreamerSonglist-compatible CSV.
You can export a backup right here too:
Organising
- Active / inactive: inactive songs stay in your library but can't be requested.
- Tags: label songs and filter the table by tag.
- Columns: hide and reorder columns; the table remembers your layout.
- New song tag (Configuration > Settings): when turned on, recently added songs are marked "new" for the number of days you choose.
Song files
On plans that include song files, you can attach up to 5 MIDI files (.mid or .midi, up to 2 MB each) to a song: open the song's edit dialog and use Upload MIDI file under Files. Ovatio checks that each upload really is a MIDI file and refuses anything else.
Files are private to you and your channel mods. When the song is requested, its files appear as download buttons on the request in the queue and on the now-playing card, and the Files card on the dashboard shows the current song's files so you can download or add them while live. Viewers never see them.
Files stay attached until you remove them, remove the song from your library, or delete your account. If your plan no longer includes song files, your files are hidden (they can't be listed or downloaded) but not deleted, and they come back as they were when you upgrade.
A viewer says a song isn't in the list
Check the spelling and whether the song is inactive. Viewers can use the !hasSong chat command to check the list themselves.
